Shipping
It always burns me up...
the way some sellers overcharge for shipping.
Come on! Why would someone charge $5 or $6 to mail something that would otherwise cost 41¢ for a stamp plus 10¢ or 15¢ for an envelope?
It drives me crazy!!!
So here's the deal...
Within a few cents, I will try to charge you exactly what it costs me to ship. That means I will charge you:
-
actual packaging - I use new Stay-Flats for larger items. When necessary, I protect very fragile items in plastic bags with card stock stiffeners. I use mylar, acetate, or glassine envelopes depending on value and need for protection. The less I can get away with, the less I'll charge you. In some cases, I use free USPS envelopes when mailing via Priority Mail. You will replace my temporary bags and holders, so I always combine multiple items to decrease holder charges.
-
actual postage
- actual insurance - I ALWAYS advise buying insurance. If you choose the insurance option, then I will add actual costs.
- foreign exchange costs - It costs me a small amount to convert between currencies. I add that small amount when a currency conversion charge is incurred.

How will I handle this?
Actually, it is very easy.
Selling this wide range of paper collectibles demands a wide range of mailers and an even wider range of postage. The store software calculates shipping charges as if everything is mailed in the same kind of shipping container. I've designed the checkout so it (generally) won't calculate too low.
If you use the "Invoice me" checkout option...

I will package everything, and send you an email invoice for the total. Then, you can either pay by check, money order or PayPal.
If you use "PayPal" checkout...

I will refund any overpayment. (Refunding via PayPal is easy.)
