I have 1,000s more issues to add, including many 100s from WWII and many 100s from East Coast cities. Stay tuned.

Hundreds more issues of Railroad Magazine to come. I just need time to describe.

The current store inventory is over 3,200 items.

I beg you to familiarize yourself with my grading standards.

GENERAL GRADING STANDARDS

Papermental Grading Standards logo

The idea of grading is to help buyers understand the conditions of things they are buying.

This is a short descussion of my grading terminology. Please be sure to read my detailed discussion of grading paper collectibles at least once.

I have no illusions about always being right.

However, I am completely willing to stand behind my descriptions and grades. That is why I always offer a 100%, no-questions-asked, money back guarantee.

GRADING TERMINOLOGY

Mint = ??? I NEVER use the term. With deference to other recognized experts, I will stress, PAPER IS NOT MINTED!!! (I'm sorry for yelling, but I have to tell you, this term makes me a little crazy!)
UNC = uncirculated Documents have never been used. I seldom use this term because truly uncirculated documents are still in printing plants.
AU = almost uncirculated Documents have barely been used.
XF = extra fine Documents show limited use and are much better than average. This is generally the highest grade I use. Paper is bright with original body.
VF = very fine Documents are better than average, but usage is obvious. There may be some light folds. may show some aging.
F = fine Average documents with average problems. Documents are intact, but may show creases, handling marks, tiny edge tears. DO NOT BUY anything in this condition if you are unwilling to accept average problems.
VG = very good Documents have more problems than normal. Documents show definite wear. Minor to intermediate separations show along original folds. Water stains are fairly common. Pulp paper will show yellowing or brittleness.
G = good Documents are intact, but beat up. Paper deterioration is common. Consider items in this and worse conditions as space fillers.
FR = fair Documents are heavily worn. There may be large tears and pieces may be missing. Collect items in this condition only when they have historical or collectible interest.
PR = poor Documents have serious problems. They are barely above rag status. Buy with extreme caution.
